Howdy folks. So I've designed this game for something for us xSporians to play again.

Hurrp a Durrp - What do I need to play?
You'll need paint. Or anythig to edit pictures.
You'll also need to be able to upload the picture.

Why? Because there's no way in hell I'm going to number/name all the provinces on the map. Took me 4 hours just to draw it.
As for the exact situation, you can't exactly say "I want my army to move to uh... southeast..east.. of... my third province?"

Therefore, you'll need to be able to draw a splatter of anything to designate it.

No, you won't need to do this every turn.

Hurrp a durrp - Tell me more.

The game begins in 0AD, and you begin with a small village's worth of people - averaging at 200. Logic aside, your army can be built from 0 to 1000+ whilst your population stays unchanged. Population is for taxing only.

Basically, It's risk. As in, build armies, get more land. Improve your country to improve its output. Namely, wealth.

More land, more people capacity. More people, more taxes. More taxes, more wealth and therefore more wealth, more armies.
More armies... more land.

OK SO. GAME RULES.

 

Your country improves as a whole, rather than per-province. The only benefit from more provinces is more people, which in turn generates more tax outcome (ie, a tax rate of 5% kicks out more from a population of 400, rather than 100.)

Turn actions can be split into three;
Improvements: These give small results and cost wealth. YOU CAN ONLY DO 2 PER TURN.
Research: These give larger results and do not cost wealth. YOU CAN ONLY DO 2 PER TURN.
Military: Build ships/armies, move them around as much as you want.

You can only move armies one land territory per turn.
You can only move navies one sea territory per turn.*
*If launching from port, act as if on adjacent sea territory, when moving.

You have two sources of income: Trade and Tax.
Tax is derived from the population.
Trade is derived from your road networks. You also have the possibility of finding a resource when you grab a new province, which will give a ++ to your trade income.

When you grab a new province, you'll get a small population increase.

Tax is a stagnant number and won't change. This is to avoid munnies spiralling out of control, to some extent.


When we start the game, your starting values will be generated. You'll get good values, you'll get bad values (values being current tech levels and such).


Improvements

Houses - this gives a +50 Population Cap, allowing for further growth. Costs: 5 Gold
Hospitals - this gives a +0.5% Population Growth [max:3*province count] Costs: 20 Gold
Barracks - this gives a +200 Army Size Cap Costs: 8 Gold
Roads - this gives a +0.1 Trade Income [max:3*province count] Costs: 10 Gold

Technologies

Government - Allows more provinces to be controled at any one time [2*government = max provinces]
Military - Increases land troop power by 1.
Navy - Increases sea troop power by 1.
Trade - Increases tax income by 1.0.
Culture - -2 Revolt Chance

Military
Train 1 land unit [100 men] Costs: 8 Gold
Build 1 naval unit [10 ships] Costs: 10 Gold

Penalties
If your army is larger than your army maximum, every unit over the max pays a 2* upkeep rate.

If you hold more provinces than your government level allows, there's a chance a revolt will take place and threaten to turn a province of yours, at random, into a new country.

Diplomacy
Feel free to ally, war, backstab and rape each other.

You can also form trade routes with neighbours that are, to a maximum, 5 territories away, [inbetween your territories], or 5 sea territories away.

Trade Routes will duplicate half of what they make in tax, forwarded to you. [If they make 6.4 Gold through trade, you'll get 3.2 every turn in addition to whatever you make, with no loss to either party].

The Meshanan empire now proud of its first fulyl uniformed army begins the recruitment and training process for another legion.(train one army)

The Beureu of Expansion begins sending settler groups to the north, Along with building a new negihborhood near the captial city( Build houses 1 for 5 gold)

A new high way has been opened heading towards the western border(build road 1 for 10 gold)

An Heir the the Meshanan throne has been born A grand celebration is held in every town from here to there(government +1)

a new entrepreneur arrives in the town of Bishop and slowly creates a vast trading network(trade +1)

Rumors come in from al lcorners of the compass tellign of other kingdoms and most specifically warnings from the north of a potential rival empire.

 

The Grand vizier of the septan empire orders expansion to the east

a new hospital has been built i nthe capital city(build hospital for 20 gold.

a new neighborhood has also been built(build house 2 for 10 gold

Vuurdam Turn 2

After a shift in government the people now have government built taverns and inns. Aiding in the happiness of the people and creating more culture.(Culture)

The shift in government leads to increased trade with a new currency.(Trade)

Houses are built to support the large nation.(Houses)

People need to walk and shit I guess.(Roads)

Government wishes to conquer bay for they belive it will allow better harbours.
